# What is llms.txt?

> llms.txt is a proposed plain-text file at a site's root that gives large language models a curated, markdown summary of the site and links to its most useful pages.

llms.txt was proposed in 2024 as a simple way for websites to give AI systems a clean overview: a title, a short description, and links to key pages, often with markdown versions of those pages. A companion llms-full.txt sometimes carries full content.

It is a proposal, not a standard, and AI providers have not all confirmed that their crawlers use it. It does no harm and is cheap to maintain if generated from the site's content.

For a prop firm, the useful content to list is programs and prices, rules, payout terms, platforms, restricted countries and contact details.

## Why it matters

Traders increasingly ask AI assistants which firm to choose and what its rules are. Anything that helps those systems quote your rules correctly is worth a small effort. Generate llms.txt from your content data so it never states an old price or rule.
