# What is Payout proof?

> Payout proof is evidence that a prop firm actually pays traders, such as payout certificates, transaction records or third-party verified data, shown on its site and socials.

In a prop firm, payout proof is often the most persuasive trust content on the website. Common forms are payout certificates generated from the back office, shared transaction receipts, payout totals by period, and third-party verification from a comparison site or auditor.

Payout proof is also where marketing runs into compliance. A wall of the largest payouts implies typical results that most traders will not get. Individual payouts should be labelled as examples, not typical, and published only with the trader's consent.

Totals stated by the firm are claims, not facts, unless verified. Saying who verified the figure, and for what period, is what makes it credible.

## Why it matters

Traders choose firms mainly on whether they will be paid, so proof is conversion-critical. Make it specific and dated, link it to a methodology, label example payouts as not typical, and never fabricate or inflate. A small, verifiable proof section beats a large one nobody can check.
