# Rithmic, Tradovate or Volumetrica for a Futures Prop Firm

> A new futures prop firm in 2026 chooses between Rithmic (data and order routing with front ends such as R|Trader Pro, Quantower, ATAS, Sierra Chart and Bookmap), Tradovate Prop or NinjaTrader Prop (launched October 1, 2025), Volumetrica (dashboards and DeepCharts, used by 20+ futures prop firms by its own count) and DXtrade XT. ProjectX has been Topstep-only since February 28, 2026. Pricing is quote only; budget CME data per trader.

**Short answer:** A new futures prop firm in 2026 chooses between Rithmic (data and order routing with front ends such as R|Trader Pro, Quantower, ATAS, Sierra Chart and Bookmap), Tradovate Prop or NinjaTrader Prop (launched October 1, 2025), Volumetrica (dashboards and DeepCharts, used by 20+ futures prop firms by its own count) and DXtrade XT. ProjectX has been Topstep-only since February 28, 2026. Pricing is quote only; budget CME data per trader.

Futures prop firms don't choose a platform the way CFD firms do. A CFD firm picks one platform and a liquidity or price feed; a futures firm picks a data and routing layer, a simulation engine, one or more front ends traders already know, and a way to pay for exchange data per trader. This guide compares the routes open in 2026, after ProjectX became Topstep-only.

## What are the routes?

The routes differ in what you license and what traders see. Most firms offer more than one, because futures traders are loyal to their front end.

**Futures platform routes for a new prop firm (vendor statements as published; checked October 2026)**

| Route | What it is | Published facts | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rithmic | Data and order routing; traders choose a compatible front end | Front ends include R|Trader Pro, Quantower, ATAS, Sierra Chart and Bookmap | Quote; usually via a back-office vendor |
| Tradovate Prop / NinjaTrader Prop | NT Technologies' prop platforms | Launched Oct 1, 2025; named Take Profit Trader, Apex Trader Funding and MyFundedFutures; risk controls, TradingView integration, mobile/web/desktop | Quote |
| Volumetrica | Futures dashboards, DeepCharts platforms, CFD and crypto via DeepchartFx | "Used by over 20 Prop Firms Futures worldwide"; data via dxFeed (vendor claims) | Quote |
| DXtrade XT | Devexperts' platform with futures for prop firms | Futures added Aug 2024; L1/L2 US and EU futures via dxFeed | Quote |
| ProjectX | Former third-party futures platform | Topstep-only since Feb 28, 2026 | Not available |

## When does Rithmic make sense?

Rithmic makes sense when your target traders are order-flow and execution-focused and already use a specific front end. Because Rithmic is a routing and data layer rather than one platform, a firm on Rithmic can let traders choose among compatible platforms. In PropFirmPal's September 2026 data for 245 firms (a comparison site we own), Quantower appeared at 17 firms, ATAS at 13, Sierra Chart at 10 and Bookmap at 9.

Firms usually reach Rithmic through a prop back-office vendor rather than alone. PropTechPal's directory of 25 vendors (also ours) lists Rithmic support at 7 vendors, Tradovate at 5 and NinjaTrader at 4.

## When do Tradovate Prop or NinjaTrader Prop make sense?

Tradovate Prop and NinjaTrader Prop make sense when your audience already trades on NinjaTrader or Tradovate, which are the most common futures platforms at prop firms: NinjaTrader appeared at 22 and Tradovate at 21 of 245 firms in PropFirmPal's data. NT Technologies built them specifically for prop firms in October 2025. Our NinjaTrader for prop firms guide covers that route in depth.

## When does Volumetrica make sense?

Volumetrica makes sense when you want one vendor for dashboards and platform, or plan to offer futures and CFDs from one stack. Volumetrica says its dashboards are used by over 20 futures prop firms for operational management, that it has served futures prop firms for 5+ years, and that DeepchartFx extends to forex, stocks and 500+ cryptocurrencies. After cTrader's 2026 US restriction, at least one firm named Volumetrica among its US platforms, according to Finance Magnates.

## Who pays for exchange data?

Exchange data is billed per user, and it is the line futures founders most often under-budget. CME Group publishes a fee list that charges separately for top-of-book and depth-of-market data, with much lower fees for non-professional subscribers. Ask every vendor who the data licensee is, whether data is billed per active trader, and who pays if a trader is classified as professional.

## What does your futures platform mean for your website?

- One page per front end: Rithmic firms need a page per supported platform, with connection steps, because "how do I connect Quantower to {firm}" is a real support and search query.
- Data-fee page: explain whether data is included, what traders pay, and the professional/non-professional question, in plain language.
- Checkout hand-off: capture platform choice at purchase; some routes issue different credentials per front end.
- Rules in futures units: contracts per account size, trailing drawdown with a worked example, session rules.
- Disclosures: many US futures sites carry a version of the CFTC Rule 4.41 hypothetical-performance legend wherever results appear; ask your lawyer whether and where it applies.
- Restricted countries and a dated platform-change notice ready to publish, as ProjectX firms learned in 2026.

> PipValley builds futures prop sites with a page per front end, data-fee explainers and the disclosure set. Signature is $3,500 for the build, then $75 a month for care.

## What should you ask a futures platform vendor?

- What notice will you give if you stop serving third-party prop firms, as ProjectX did?
- Who is the exchange data licensee, and how are professional subscribers handled?
- Which front ends are licensed, and at what per-user cost?
- Can you enforce end-of-day and intraday trailing drawdown, contract limits and session rules automatically?
- How are accounts, balances and rule state exported if we leave?

> This guide explains how things generally work and what we've seen running prop firms. It isn't legal, tax or financial advice, and it doesn't create a lawyer–client relationship. Rules differ by country and change often. Speak to a qualified professional in your jurisdiction before you act.

## Questions

### What platform should a new futures prop firm use?

A new futures prop firm should use the platform its target traders already know and whose per-trader cost it can carry. In 2026 the routes are Rithmic with compatible front ends, Tradovate Prop or NinjaTrader Prop, Volumetrica and DXtrade XT.

### Is Rithmic a trading platform?

Rithmic is mainly a data and order-routing layer for futures. Traders use it through front ends such as R|Trader Pro, Quantower, ATAS, Sierra Chart or Bookmap, which is why Rithmic firms can offer several platforms.

### Can a new prop firm use ProjectX?

No. ProjectX wound down its third-party prop firm service, supported other firms until February 28, 2026, and now runs only for Topstep.
