# MT5 White Label for Prop Firms: What's Possible in 2026

> An MT5 white label lets a company run MetaTrader 5 under its own brand on a licensed provider's server. For prop firms it is the hardest route in 2026: MetaQuotes moved against prop firms on grey-labelled servers in February 2024, and B2Broker says MetaQuotes stopped issuing new MT5 white-label licences in late 2022. Published industry ranges are $5,000–$15,000 setup and $1,000–$5,000 a month; real prop access is quote only.

**Short answer:** An MT5 white label lets a company run MetaTrader 5 under its own brand on a licensed provider's server.

MetaTrader 5 is still the platform most traders recognise, so "can we offer MT5?" is one of the first questions a new prop firm founder asks. The honest answer in 2026 is "possibly, through someone else's licence, with more risk than any other platform". This guide explains how an MT5 white label works, what changed for prop firms, what it costs as published, and what an MT5 route means for your website.

## What is an MT5 white label?

An MT5 white label is a branded copy of MetaTrader 5 that a company offers to its clients on a server licensed to someone else. The licence holder (a broker or technology provider) owns the MetaQuotes relationship, runs the server, and issues your branded terminals; you get your name on the login screen and an admin view of your accounts.

MetaQuotes itself sells full server licences to brokers, in Entry, Standard and Enterprise tiers, and says plainly that it does "not offer SaaS or other similar solutions": the licensee deploys and runs its own servers. A white label is how smaller companies get MT5 without that licence. A "grey label" is the unofficial version: a licensee rents space on its server to another business without MetaQuotes' authorisation. That distinction is what broke many prop firms in 2024.

## Why is MT5 hard for prop firms now?

MT5 is hard for prop firms because MetaQuotes has never published a prop-firm policy, and its 2024 enforcement showed it can cut a firm off through the licence holder overnight. In February 2024 the broker supplying Funding Pips cut its MT5 access, saying it was in breach of its grey-label ability to serve prop firms; a second grey-label broker cut prop firms the same week, according to Finance Magnates. The reported trigger was active US accounts. Over the following weeks many firms moved to cTrader, Match-Trader, DXtrade and TradeLocker.

The licensing door had already narrowed. Finance Magnates reported in September 2022 that MetaQuotes tightened onboarding for white-label partners, with corporate bank account proof, domain ownership in the company's name and video identity checks of key people, and that offshore brokers in Seychelles, Vanuatu and St Vincent were most affected. B2Broker's April 2026 cost guide states that "MetaQuotes stopped issuing new MT5 white label licenses in late 2022", so new white labels run through providers that already hold licences.

Some large firms returned to MT5 through regulated broker relationships. Finance Magnates reported that FTMO returned to the US with MT5 through its partnership with OANDA in August 2025. Those routes depend on owning or partnering with a regulated broker, which a new firm doesn't have.

## What does an MT5 white label cost?

An MT5 white label costs a setup fee plus a monthly fee, and published figures are ranges rather than price lists. The table shows what is public as of October 2026; any provider that will serve a prop firm will quote individually.

- The platform fee is rarely the biggest line. Liquidity or price feed, bridge, CRM and risk tooling, and payments are billed separately.
- Ask whether the provider's MetaQuotes licence explicitly allows prop-firm use, and get that answer in writing.

| Item | Published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| White-label setup | Industry range $5,000–$15,000 | B2Broker, April 2026 |
| White-label monthly fee | Industry range $1,000–$5,000 a month | B2Broker, April 2026 |
| Full MetaQuotes licence fees | Raised 20–25% from January 1, 2025; MetaQuotes negotiates deals individually | Finance Magnates, February 2025 |

## Which alternatives do most new firms use?

Most new forex and CFD prop firms launch on a platform they can license directly from its developer. In PropFirmPal's (a comparison site we own) September 2026 enrichment data for 245 firms, MT5 still appeared at 56 firms, cTrader at 30, TradeLocker at 28, Match-Trader at 19 and DXtrade at 9. Firms list several platforms, so these overlap, and many MT5 listings belong to large, broker-linked firms.

On the vendor side, PropTechPal's directory of 25 prop-tech providers (also ours) lists MT5 support at 21 vendors, the same as cTrader and Match-Trader. Support by a CRM vendor means the back office can connect to MT5; it does not give you an MT5 licence.

## What does an MT5 route mean for your website?

An MT5 route changes your website in four places, and each has to be written so it survives a platform change. If MT5 access depends on a third party's licence, assume you may have to replace it at short notice and build the site so that is a content edit, not a rebuild.

- Platform page: name the platform, how traders get credentials, download links for desktop, web and mobile, and which account types use it. Keep one page per platform so you can retire it with a dated notice and a redirect.
- Sign-up and checkout hand-off: the checkout should collect the platform choice and pass it to the back office, so credentials arrive for the right server. If a platform is unavailable in a country, hide it at checkout rather than refunding later.
- Restricted countries: MT5 availability can differ from your general list. State per-platform restrictions on the platform page and in the terms, and enforce them at checkout and KYC.
- Disclosures: say clearly that accounts are simulated, that the platform is provided by a third party, and that platform availability can change. Avoid implying a relationship with MetaQuotes you don't have.

> PipValley builds prop firm websites with one page per platform, checkout hand-offs and per-platform country rules, so a platform switch is a content change. Launch is $1,490 for the build, then $49.99 a month for care.

## What should you ask an MT5 white-label provider?

Ask questions that force the provider to show its right to serve you. A vague answer here is the risk itself.

- Whose MetaQuotes licence will my accounts run on, and does it permit prop-firm (evaluation) use?
- Has MetaQuotes approved my company as a white-label partner, or am I on your server informally?
- What happens to my traders' accounts if MetaQuotes or you end the arrangement, and how much notice will I get?
- Which countries are blocked on this server, including the US?
- Can I run a second platform in parallel from launch?
- What is the full monthly cost at my expected number of accounts, including feed, bridge and support?

> This guide explains how things generally work and what we've seen running prop firms. It isn't legal, tax or financial advice, and it doesn't create a lawyer–client relationship. Rules differ by country and change often. Speak to a qualified professional in your jurisdiction before you act.

## Questions

### Can a prop firm get an MT5 white label in 2026?

A prop firm can sometimes get MT5 through a broker or provider that holds a MetaQuotes licence and is willing to serve prop firms, but access has been unreliable since February 2024. Get written confirmation that the licence permits prop-firm use.

### How much does an MT5 white label cost?

An MT5 white label costs a setup fee and a monthly fee. B2Broker's April 2026 guide puts the industry range at $5,000–$15,000 setup and $1,000–$5,000 a month; prop-firm access is quote only.

### What is the difference between a white label and a grey label?

A white label runs on a licensed server with the platform developer's knowledge; a grey label is an unofficial resale of server space. Several prop firms lost MT5 access in 2024 because they were on grey-labelled servers.

### Is MetaTrader 5 white label the same as MT5 white label?

Yes. "MetaTrader 5 white label" and "MT5 white label" describe the same thing: a branded MT5 offering running on another company's MetaQuotes licence.
