Trading Platform Cost for Prop Firms (2026)
Match-Trader, TradeLocker, cTrader and DXtrade: what each trading platform publishes for prop firms in 2026, what is quote only, and how to compare fairly.

The trading platform is the piece traders see every day, and it is the line in a prop firm budget most exposed to events you cannot control. In two years, prop firms lost MetaTrader access, lost ProjectX and lost cTrader for US traders. So platform cost is two numbers: what you pay each month, and what it would cost to switch.
We list only prices the vendor publishes, as checked on 12 October 2026. Where a vendor says "contact sales", we say quote only.
What does each platform publish?
Two of the four major non-MetaTrader platforms publish prop pricing. The others sell by quote, which usually means terms depend on your volume, region and who resells it to you.
| Platform | Published price | Billing basis | Source note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Match-Trader | White label from $2,500/month; turnkey prop (platform and CRM) $4,000/month; server licence from $5,000/month | Fixed monthly | Article dated Nov 8, 2024; says new pricing is available on request |
| TradeLocker | Starter $3,000/month up to 500 active accounts; Custom above 500; competition accounts from $290/month per 500 | Per active account tier | States no setup fees; minimum fee applies below 500 accounts |
| cTrader (Spotware) | Quote only | Package or reseller | Spotware's white-label package page lists "no licence fee" and a shared minimum volume fee, without amounts (Aug 2022) |
| DXtrade (Devexperts) | Quote only | SaaS or enterprise | Aggregator notes "no simple public monthly rate card" |
What does licensing your own platform cost upfront?
If you license a platform directly instead of renting a white label, expect an upfront fee as well as monthly costs. Spotware's 2026 start-a-firm guide budgets $8,000–$25,000 upfront for platform licensing and $3,000–$8,000 a month for the tech stack. Those are Spotware's own ranges for a typical firm, not a cTrader price list.
Match-Trader's server licence (from $5,000 a month) is the published example of the step up: it adds full database access and lets you connect your own CRM, bridge and data providers. You gain control and pay for it in fixed cost.
How should you compare platform prices?
Compare platforms on a cost per active trader at your realistic volume, then add the cost of the risk you take on. A cheap platform that leaves your region at short notice is not cheap.
- Active accounts are not sales. TradeLocker bills accounts with at least one open position in the billing month, so a trader who buys and never trades costs nothing that month.
- Floors are floors. Match-Trader's figures are "from" prices; get your own quote.
- Add the CRM if it is not included: Match-Trader's turnkey price bundles its prop CRM; TradeLocker plans need a CRM or challenge engine alongside.
| Plan | 200 active accounts | 500 active accounts |
|---|---|---|
| Match-Trader white label (from $2,500) | about $12.50 | about $5.00 |
| Match-Trader platform and CRM (from $4,000) | about $20.00 | about $8.00 |
| TradeLocker Starter ($3,000, up to 500) | about $15.00, subject to the minimum fee below 500 | about $6.00 |
What does a platform switch cost?
Platform events are now a recurring cost of running a prop firm. MetaQuotes reportedly restricted prop firms in February 2024. ProjectX stopped serving third-party futures firms after February 28, 2026. Spotware restricted US trader onboarding on cTrader through prop firms from July 1, 2026, and firms moved US traders to Match-Trader, TradeLocker and Volumetrica.
Each switch has a technology cost (new setup, double-running two platforms), a support cost (traders asking what happens to their accounts) and a website cost: the platform page, onboarding steps, rules, FAQ and checkout all change on the same day. Budget a migration contingency, and choose a CRM and website you own so only the platform changes.
- Offer two platforms if your budget allows: it halves the damage when one withdraws.
- Ask each vendor which countries it restricts today and how you will be told when that changes.
- Keep platform names out of your brand and URLs so a switch does not cost you search rankings.
What about futures platforms?
Futures prop firms budget differently. They pay for a platform and for exchange market data, which CME Group bills per user with different fees for professional and non-professional subscribers. Model data per active account per month, using CME's current fee list on the day you sign. Our futures prop firm guide covers the platform options after ProjectX.
Questions
Which prop trading platform is cheapest?
On published prices, Match-Trader's white label from $2,500 a month is the lowest fixed floor, and TradeLocker Starter is $3,000 a month for up to 500 active accounts, as of October 2026. The cheapest for you depends on active accounts, bundled CRM and regional restrictions.
How much does cTrader cost for a prop firm?
cTrader is quote only for prop firms. Spotware's white-label package page lists no licence fee and a shared minimum volume fee without amounts, and Spotware restricted US trader onboarding through prop firms from July 1, 2026.
How much does DXtrade cost?
DXtrade is quote only. An aggregator listing notes there is no simple public monthly rate card and that a commercial quote is required before serious comparison.
Do platforms charge setup fees?
It varies. TradeLocker states no setup fees. Spotware budgets $8,000–$25,000 upfront for platform licensing in a typical prop firm launch, which covers firms licensing rather than renting.
